- In a large skillet, toast the pecans over medium heat for 3-5 minutes or until toasted and fragrant. Remove from pan and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium-low heat.
- Once melted, add the sage leaves (stems removed).
- Keep the butter at a light simmer and cook the sage leaves for 3-5 minutes or until they start to become crispy and the butter is browned.
- Remove the sage leaves from the pan but leave the butter.
- To the same pan, add the green beans and turn the heat up to medium/medium-high.
- Cover and cook for 5 minutes.
- While the green beans are cooking, slice the apples.
- After 5 minutes, add the apples and pecans to the green beans.
- Cover and cook an additional 3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle with crispy sage leaves.
