In a large nonstick skillet, brown sausage, breaking up any large pieces with a spoon or spatula.
Meanwhile, microwave Veggie Spirals Rotini for 4 minutes, then carefully open pack to release steam.
Drain any excess fat from Italian sausage, then cover to keep warm.
In a small saucepan, cook the butter until it begins to bubble. Add sage leaves and continue cooking until butter begins to smell nutty and turns medium brown.(Note: watch carefully, as the butter can go from light brown to burnt very quickly.) Remove from heat and use tongs to remove sage leaves and place on a paper towel to drain. Reserve the brown butter.
Turn heat under the sausage to medium and add the rotini, brown butter and parmesan, gently stirring until everything is warmed through. Salt and pepper to taste.
To serve, divide between two warm bowls and top with additional parmesan flakes.
